Tree Care By James started in Alaska in 2018. After earning a master’s degree in biology, founder James Mitchell was feeling lost. A lover of the outdoors, James’ education was leading him toward a career of data analysis with very little time outside. He began climbing and caring for the trees in his own backyard and knew that he had found his calling.

It’s been six years since that shift. In that time, James has earned the credential of ISA Certified Arborist, led tree service crews in five states, been awarded and fulfilled tree contracts by federal, state, and local governments, and earned several additional certifications relating to jobsite safety and plant health care. Although James has come a long way, he knows that learning never stops. He is constantly learning and growing as an arborist and tree health expert.
